What is CyTopic?

CyTopic is a Cylingo project focused on conversations, interviews, educational content and media about Cyprus — its politics, history, cultures, languages, identity, society and future.

CyTopic brings together voices from across Cyprus to discuss the island's politics, history, culture, languages, identity, society and future. It is inclusive of people from different communities and backgrounds, and open to a wide range of perspectives.

What We Discuss

CyTopic covers a broad range of subjects relevant to Cyprus and its people:

• Politics: The Cyprus Problem, reunification, federalism, negotiations, political history and current developments
• History: The events, decisions and experiences that shaped the island
• Culture: Traditions, music, food, art, festivals and the cultural heritage of Cyprus
• Language: Cypriot Greek, Cypriot Turkish, linguistic diversity and language education
• Identity & Society: What it means to be Cypriot across different communities and generations
• Interviews: Conversations with politicians, negotiators, academics, community leaders and public figures
• Education & Youth: Student life, young voices, diaspora perspectives and the future of Cyprus

Independent & Non-Partisan

CyTopic is independent and non-partisan. We discuss political and social issues affecting Cyprus, but we do not operate on behalf of any political party or candidate.

Discussing politics does not mean CyTopic endorses a political position. Guests and contributors represent their own views. CyTopic is a space for different perspectives to be heard, examined and debated — not a platform for any single political agenda.

All content goes through an editorial review to ensure it meets our standards for quality, accuracy and respectful discourse.

Part of Cylingo

CyTopic is a project of Cylingo, a non-profit initiative dedicated to language education, cultural understanding and bringing communities in Cyprus closer together.

CyTopic and Cylingo are not separate organisations. CyTopic is the media, discussion and video platform within the wider Cylingo project.

Non-Profit Model

Cylingo and all its related projects, including CyTopic, operate on a non-profit basis.

CyTopic currently generates no revenue. If revenue is generated in the future — through advertising, donations, sponsorship or other means — it will be reinvested into sustaining Cylingo and its projects. No income is distributed to owners, founders or shareholders.

Our Team

CyTopic is run by a small team of dedicated volunteers passionate about Cyprus, cross-community dialogue and independent media. Our editorial team reviews all submissions and works with contributors to bring their content to life.
